The lycra rash-guard I was wearing the last two weaks was giving me a nice salt water rash…
I need to try some different paddling top…Peter Provis gave me one of his thermals, and I hope the next days my skin will look better…the rash was there already the first days, but developed pretty badly after the last tough two days. This may be my personal challenge on this trip, keeping my skin healthy. No sunburn problems, but this rash looks like a teenager in puberty…I got tea tree oil from Peter, and some PawPaw ointment from Phil…we’ll see what my skin will like. probably just simply less hours on the water…

Lighthouse at Point Hicks
Launching erly again at 6am, not sure what the day will bring again as for the wind…forecast as usual, mornings light to moderate headwinds, afternoon strong…
i was bit short of fresh water for another night out there on the beach, and I was happy to get a fishíngboat coming asides at abou 9am. They gave me two small bottles of drinking water, better than nothing I thought…thanks for that!

View from top of the dune ridge into the marsh hinterland

view from top of the dune ridge to the sea
I was launching from the Ewing marsh early that morning, to get a bit of quiet wind on paddling. A quick climb onto the dune ridge to get a look what’s behind had to satisfy my curiosity.

On the road (water) again…
Mick McRobb loaded my boat on his work van, and off we go, quite a bit of a drive from Barnsdale to Lakes Entrance again that early morning.
On the way I had a live radio interview with Brandon from ABC radio – has anybody heard it?

Mick McRobb and Lyn Stephenson with their lively lovely Dachshound-puppies…sweet kind of dogs! i grew up with two Dachshounds…
Thanks to both hosting me on that first pit stop! It was useful for office work, and a relief for my sore body…
Peter Provis in Mallacoota already called on my mobile for being ready at the next pit stop – thanks for that service, VSKC! Those are well needed rests…

endless 90-Miles Beach…
…eventually is almost coming to an end at Lakes Entrance!
It happens that the most lovely beach is getting boring to look at when there is nothing happening ashore…no fishing lines to take care of, no bathing families to wave at…some eagles over the dunes, but no marine mammals at all…just the endless waves coming ashore were still entertaining to watch and even to ride on, as close as I could get without being caught and thrown sideways at the beach…funny game…

passing Seaspray…the only civilized “beachlife site” on 90 Miles Beach…
No, those guys didn’t come up to me for a rescue or to fine me passing too close to the beach life as they might have done in Germany…
“Are you the lady paddling around Australia? That’s awesome!” Some ego-boosting feels good…actually, it was Mick McRobb from VSKC who was asking those guys some hours ago on their watchtower if I already have passed…

…no, I wasn’t diggin a grave for my baby…it was done by the wind all day…
Same issue as on Thursday, strongest winds forecasted for lunchtime – this time following!!! Maybe I could easily get blown up the coast? It was exciting to see what will happen…
The morning was looking allright…launching, and see how far I’ll get!
