MSR Gear
Thanks to Tami Fairweather and Michelle Vela from Cascade Designs for providing me a huge goodie bag/ box of MSR gear for my “Race around Australia” and South America Expedition! Visiting the Cascade Design Factory was just like x-mas to me…or later recieving new boxes of gear…
On all my other expeditions I was using already the famous MSR Whisperlite Internationale camp stove. It feels great to get a brandnew one, and to keep the proven good old one as a backup!
I also got an Expedition Service Kit and some fuel bottles.

I’m going to try as well the MSR PocketRocket, this might save some weight where there are gas cans available, and it’s a slight bit easier to operate in a tent, just in case the sandflies will be as nasty as in New Zealand…
The alternative for bigger pots for me is a Super Fly Stove, which is a bit more solid with four arms instead of three only.
I use for myself the Quick Solo Pot only, eating mostly out of the pot…
When I’m travelling with a friend, the Alpinist 2 System comes in very handy and a bit more stylish with two plates and two thermos mugs.
For Hydration I’m using mostly 4 liters and a few 2 liters MSR Dromedary Bags, inclusive a Hydration Kit, which is simply a hose with a mouthpiece I can attach to a Dromedary bag without the need to have a different bag.
I got some of the MSR Personal Packtowls, they feel just great and serve you best on a trip,
I also got the lightweight version Packtowl Ultralite in different sizes.
